Our American made Matelassé Bedspreads add a touch of elegance to any bedroom. Matelassé weaving has a rich history, going back about 300 years - in fact, the word “Matelassé” means “quilted” in French!

Bates has been proudly manufacturing high quality Matelassé Bedspreads since the 1950’s. Favored for their comfort and beautiful design, Matelassé bedspreads have been known to last generations, becoming cherished family heirlooms. It has even been said that these treasured bedspreads seem to improve with every wash.

Our Matelassé Bedspreads are woven and stitched entirely in the USA by our family-owned mill in Maine. 100% Preshrunk Cotton, Machine Wash & Dry.
